Role Purpose

  • The GEDSI Specialist will support the integration of gender equality, disability inclusion, and broader social inclusion considerations into various development projects and programmes. Key Responsibilities

A. GEDSI Analysis and Mainstreaming

  • Conduct gender and social inclusion analysis to develop baseline assessment which are relevant for project purposes.
  • Develop inclusivity frameworks based on the baseline assessment to achieve meaningful inclusion of the projects.
  • Identify key barriers, risks, and opportunities faced by vulnerable populations affected by the projects.
  • Support the integration of GEDSI considerations into project frameworks, methodologies, and outputs.
  • Provide inputs to ensure planning and design recommendations are inclusive and equitable.

B. Stakeholder Mapping and Inclusive Engagement

  • Identify and map diverse stakeholders, including vulnerable and underrepresented groups.
  • Support the design and implementation of inclusive stakeholder engagement processes.
  • Ensure consultation approaches are accessible and participatory for different social groups, including persons with disabilities.

C. Policy and Institutional Alignment (GEDSI Lens)

  • Review relevant national and subnational policies, regulations, and frameworks related to gender equality, disability inclusion, and social inclusion relevant for project’s scope of work.
  • Identify alignment and gaps between project approaches and existing GEDSI-related regulations and commitments.
    Provide inputs to ensure project recommendations are consistent with applicable policies and institutional mandates.

D. Capacity Building and Project Management Support

  • Provide guidance and inputs to project teams on GEDSI integration in planning and design processes.
  • Document lessons learned and good practices on inclusion within project implementation.
  • Support internal learning and awareness on inclusive approaches and methodologies.
  • Ensure projects delivery will adhere and follow to GEDSI principles.
  • Support the preparation of GEDSI-related sections in project reports and deliverables.
