Portfolio and Investment Strategy Manager

Level: Manager / Senior Consultant
Minimum Experience: 6+ years in investment strategy, portfolio planning, corporate strategy, infrastructure/real estate advisory, or related fields

 

1. Role Purpose

The Portfolio and Investment Strategy Manager will lead the development of portfolio and investment-related analyses and recommendations across TP’s projects. The role supports clients in assessing opportunities, structuring strategic options, prioritising assets or initiatives, and building implementation-oriented investment strategies.

The position requires strong analytical ability, strategic thinking, and commercial awareness, with the ability to connect portfolio-level priorities with project-level opportunities and constraints.

2. Key Responsibilities

  1. Portfolio and Investment Analysis
  • Lead analyses related to asset portfolios, investment priorities, sequencing, and strategic options.
  • Assess opportunities from commercial, strategic, market, and implementation perspectives.
  • Support the development of investment theses, portfolio rationalisation strategies, and prioritisation frameworks.
  • Contribute to strategic positioning of assets, projects, or partnerships.
  1. Strategy Development
  • Develop structured approaches for evaluating investment pathways, portfolio trade-offs, and opportunity pipelines.
  • Integrate market, policy, financial, operational, and stakeholder factors into recommendations.
  • Support the preparation of strategic plans, investor-facing narratives, and internal decision papers.
  • Translate analysis into clear recommendations for clients and senior stakeholders.
  1. Client and Stakeholder Coordination
  • Engage with clients and internal teams to understand priorities, risks, and decision requirements.
  • Facilitate discussions on portfolio strategy, investment readiness, and implementation pathways.
  • Support preparation of presentations, workshops, and meetings with potential partners or investors.
  1. Team Management and Delivery
  • Manage assigned workstreams, timelines, and coordination across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Review and guide analytical outputs produced by consultants and junior staff.
  • Ensure project outputs are delivered to agreed scope, quality, and schedule.
  1. Quality Assurance and Business Development
  • Maintain quality and consistency in portfolio and investment strategy outputs.
  • Support proposal development and pipeline pursuits that require investment and portfolio strategy capability.
  • Contribute to internal knowledge development in relevant sectors and markets.

4. Required Qualifications and Competencies

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Real Estate, Business, Urban Planning, Infrastructure Planning, or related field.
  • Minimum 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in investment strategy, portfolio planning, transaction support, or strategic advisory is preferred.
  • Experience in infrastructure, transport, real estate, or public sector investment contexts is an advantage.
